19th-century copy in an unidentified hand.
Watermark dated 1834; the manuscript dates from that date or later.
Compare: Journal of Major Matthias Ogden in Arnold's campaign against Quebec. Morristown, N.J., 1928. (973.3313 O34 1928M in the Society's collection. The printed version begins with "27th. This day we were employed in transporting our boats ..." Five lines from the bottom of page [1], the manuscript version of the journal begins: This day we were employed in transporting our boats ..."
The last line on p. [16]: encamped. We judged twenty-two miles from our last; the catchwords on that page read: encampment One of our .... These lines coincide with the last lines on p. 6 of the printed version mentioned above.
On 19th-century blue paper watermrked E. Twogood 1854
Watermark dated 1834; the manuscript dates from that date or later.
