"In His Majesty's name you are required to notify and warn the freeholders and other inhabitants of the town of Ipswich, that they assemble & meet ... on Monday the eighteenth day of Dec.r ... then & there to know whither [whether?] the town will dismiss the Committee of Correspondance, also the Committee that was chosen to see that the Continental Resolves were duly observed ...."
"Hereof fail not and make return of this warrant to the selectmen at or before said day.
At head of p. [2]: Warrant Decr 13. 1775
On verso in another hand: By virtue of the within warrant I have notified and war[n]ed the freeholders and other inhabitants ... to assemble ... [signed] Daniel Potter Constable of Ipswich
John Baker later joined others in speaking out against the British Parliament in steps that led to the Revolutionary War. Col. Baker's Regiment marched to the battle of Lexington in 1775.
