Addressee's name from bookseller, but difficult to verify. Possible candidates include Gov. Thomas Sim Lee of Maryland, who helped finance troops during the Revolution; Capt. Thomas Lee of N.Y., and Thomas Lee of Virginia, who served with Grayson's Continental Regiment.
"The sum I received from you will not purchase much at the present exorbitant price of articles - but as the money has depreciated at least a hundred pr.ct. since I borrowed - I will make good to you ...."
Eustace was an original member of the Georgia Society of the Cincinnati.
