"The War Department has refused to grant pensions to those who served in Col. Enoch Poor's Regiment : saying that it was not a Continental Regiment"
"Gen. Dearborn's certificate would be useful to decide this point."
At lower right: I certify that Col. Enoch Poor's Regiment was in the Continental service as one of the three New Hampshire regiments in the years 1775 & 1776. [signed] H. Dearborn
The first two pragraphs are in an unidentified hand.

Dearborn was an original member of the New Hampshire Society of the Cincinnati but later transferred to the Massachusetts Society
