"Pay to Mary Savage the wife of Lieutenant Abijah Savage of Middletown twenty four pounds ... being for his wages as a lieutenant in a company commanded by Maj.r Return Jon.a Meigs from the first day of December last to the day, he being a prisoner at Quebec, agreable to a resolve of the General Assembly and charge the same to the colonys account.
