Field exercises developed by Captain William Congreve in 1776 for use with his newly introduced light six-pound cannon for the British army, illustrated throughout with sketch diagrams of the movements of the artillery pieces through the complex exercises.

Pocket notebook bound in brown leather with brass clasp closure.
This exercise was never published; each officer in the Royal Artillery made his own fair hand copy of the original Congreve ms.
