"I hope you will be able to obtain the fifty dollars for Mr. Bosworth, as there can be no doubt but that he is justly entitled to it... for as I before informed you, he received an honerable discharge at the close of the war...."
Both Benner and Bosworth served as soldiers in the Massachusetts line during the American Revolution. For an account of their service, see MSS L1981.1.653.2, another letter from Kilby to Robinson, dated the previous year.
