Note
Location of Haverhill surmised from records of the Ladd family in New Hampshire and from Whitomb's Rangers' history; however, there is another Haverhill in nearby Massachusetts.
"Received from Samuel Ladd, Constable of this place, twenty three bushells and five pints of wheat for use of the troops at this place."
"N.B. The above wheat was received for taxes for the year 1779 at the rate of fifty dollars per bushell [sic]"
Whitcomb was a major in the New Hampshire Rangers from Nov., 1777 -- Heitman.
