Ms. inscription pasted on front pastedown: "These orations were collected by Miss Mary Ellis, sister of Mrs. Anthony Walton White at the time of the death of Washington & bound at that time" (Anthony Walton White, an aide-de-camp to George Washington, was a original member of the NY Society).
