Richly decorated manuscript broadside poem; text in frame surmounted by royal armorial; below the text, detailed watercolor sketch depicting blue-coated soldiers firing cannon at ships from the shore, possibly a scene from the Battle of the Chesapeake; below this, a couple's joint armorial on purple marbled background.
Celebrating the nuptials of a French officer who had served in America during the revolutionary war & was awarded a Croix de Saint Louis, which is mentioned in the poem.
