"Bishop Perry says a Society is being formed in Iowa. He will doubtless be president of it." Perry was then Bishop of the Diocese of Iowa
"Bishop Potter of New York, I am told, wishes he was a member of the Order of Cincinnati."
"On Saturday night I saw George Gardiner, brother of Col. He says the Secretary General [Asa Bird Gardiner] is getting slowly better. He is still unable to read letters or to attend to correspondence
Drowne was a member of the Rhode Island Society of the Cincinnati, as was Asa Bird Gardiner. Perry was an honorary member of that same Society.
Letterhead includes the Cincinnati Eagle.
