"I certify that Col.o Lewis Morris Jun.r has served with me as an aid [sic] de camp since August 1776 has been with me in several actions and constantly attended me in that character from his entering the service with me till the 8th day of April last."
Sullivan was an original member of the New Hampshire Society of the Cincinnati; Lewis, of the New York Society.
