Captain Oliver Titcomb was a Massachusetts officer who served in Col. Jacob Gerrish’s Regiment of Guards. These documents related to his assignment guarding the British and Hessian prisoners captured at Saratoga while they were held at Winter Hill near Boston, before they were marched to Virginia.
With: ms. booklet ([8] p.): accounts of monies due to Capt. Titcomb including cost of musters, coffer, graves &c.; "Journal of the march with the German troops from Winter Hill to Infield," November 11-22, 1778 (brief details of each of the 12 days march--from where to where & also some details of lodgings).
