Requests Watkins to sign "the certificate as President of the Society ... and return it to me as early as he can," mentioning that he had mae the same request "on the 5 July last."
The "certificate" is probably a membership certificate, also known as a "diploma" for a new member.
Both Jamison and Watkins were members of the Maryland Society of the Cincinnati; Jamison, a successor member, and Watkins an original member.
