Note
"A prize has been brought into this place by Captain Goodloe, belonging to North Carolina. One captain, two lieutenants and ten privates of the British militia were on board, bound for St. Augustine."
Habersham expresses his hope to exchange the prisoners, for, among others, "Capt. Brigg of the late lieutenant-colonel [Ephraim] Jackson's State Legion, Lieutenants Cowan and Hillary of the Regiment of the State ...."
He also mentions a report that "Lieut. Colonel Laurens was lately killed....:
