"I have the honor to inform you that I have served my country in the capacity of an aid de camp [sic] from the 14th of Aug.t 1776 until the close of the late revolution; and therefore convince myself entitled to half pay for life, or a commutation thereof, which by a late resolution of Congress is left to the option of the officers ...."
Morris was an original member of the South Carolina Society of the Cincinnati; Lincoln, of the Massachusetts Society.
