Regrets missing Wadsworth at the Hartford meeting of the Connecticut Society of the Cincinnati, where "the political sentiments of certain characters ought really to be an inducement for those of as good heads & better hearts to attend...."
"Our Pres[iden]t [Ebenezer Huntington] gave the French Republic [toast] before the Congress to my great mortification, so that I spoke out that he had made an omission. The toasts, however went round, the comp[an]y. not knowing the order in which they were placed."
Also discusses profit sharing of funds from an unnamed business venture, toward which Tallmadge had advanced "between 2 & 3000 dollars."
