Note
Loudon was a printer who moved his press to Fishkill, NY when the British took over New York City and was one of the sellers of lottery tickets issued by the Continental Congress to raise funds for the war effort. In this letter to managers of the United States Lottery, he explains his plan for selling the 900 tickets he has received and he ask for clarification about how he should handle "adventurers" who have won lottery prizes and are willing to renew their tickets.
