Note
Probably in the hand of John Richard Watrous, surgeon in the 1st Connecticut regiment -- see letter in 1974 case file concerning provenance.
Docketed title, p. [4]: List of officers of revolution as borne on the list of the Society of Cincinnati ....
Officers listed approximately alphabetically in 2 columns on pp. [1] - [3].
At foot of p. [3]: figures show 33 members living in 1830 and 14 living in 1838, after the Connecticut Society had gone dormant.
Previously cataloged as MSS L1974.117 M MB; that case file, however, shows that only a facsimile of this manuscript was acquired in 1974. It was not until 1975 that Edmund Webster Burke donated the original manuscript and two daguerreotype portraits, of John Richard Watrous and of a painted portrait of his second wife Lois Mather Watrous.
