"The subscriber respectfully solicits the Court to grant him a license for keeping a public house or inn where he now dwells in the township of Hopewell" [signed] Delany Sharp
"We the subscribers do hereby certify that Delany Sharp is of good reput for honesty & temperance ... and that he is well provided with house room stabling and provender agreeably [sic] to law."
On verso: "Allowed 14 dollars" ; and "12 freeholders of the [unnamed] township".
Almarin Brooks and Eli Elmer were original members of the New Jersey Society of the Cincinnati.
