"This may certify Colonel Thomas Nixon has produced & settled an acct of all monies ... paid by him for the use of the regiment in which he has given credit for the sum of ten thousand dollars from the paymaster general & the further sum of eight hundred dollars ... from Ebenezer Hancock ..."

Nixon, who commanded the 6th Massachusetts Regiment in 1788, was an orginal member of the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati.
Hancock was the deputy pay-master general.
