Note
The enclosed letter addressed to Mr. Fawcett [not present] -- Power of attorney ... from Mr. Proctor to you an authenticated copy of our agreement ...."
"General Ogden, my intimate friend & cousin, when in London ... contracted a debt ...." Bloomfield urges Lee to honor the draft Bloomfield had arranged.
Requests that Lee "procure an elegant gold watch of Leacock, Royal Exchange London. I am recommended this gentleman by General Ogden who has a gold watch of his make, and for which he gave last fall thirty guineas." He instructs that the watch bear his name in lieu of numerals.
Another request is for a "compleat set of Westminster Magazine from the year 1774 to the present."
Postscript, pp. [3-4] dated Burlington, June 15, 1784, further explains his desires concerning the watch.
Both Bloomfield and Ogden were original members of the New Jersey Society of the Cincinnati
