"The bearer is Mr. Thomas Bourke of Georgia whom I beg to introduce to your kind attention. He is going on business to Philadelphia[.] He is owner of the northern half of the island of St. Catherine, which he wishes to sell."
"What a pity that the U. States do not lay their hands on that, & the other sea islands that abound with live-oak! I well remember, it was an idea of your's [sic].
Barry, who served in the Continental Navy during the Revolution, was an original member of the Pennsylvania Society of the Cincinnati.
