Note
The attached [4] page document is a bond of William Wilson of Fredericksburg, Virginia, the heir of his brother James Wilson, formerly of the South Carolina Regiment of Artillery.
The bond recognizes Henry Moore as the administrator of James Wilson's estate as of June 1784 and acquits him from further claims against the estate. Moore grants William Wilson 300 pounds, "the surplus arising from the estate " of his late brother
The bond is witnessed by William Wilson, Charles Lining, Williams Thayer, and Cochran McClure, all of whom witnessedf the document in front of Peter Freneau, Secretary.
At bottom of p. [3] of the document: Page 198 / 12th Jund 1794.
Moultrie, Moore, and Lining were all original members of the South Carolina Society of the Cincinnati; Moultrie was its first president; Lining, its first treasurer.
James Wilson served as Captain Lieutenant in the South Carolina Regiment of Artillery, but was not eligible to the Society.
