"This may certify that Capt. Adams Bailey Paymaster to Colonel John Bailey has this day produced and settled his accounts for pay due the regiment from January 1st 1777 to March [1st?] 1779. (.3)
Recorded amounts (.3):Two thousand one hundred sixty three dollars received of Ebenezer Hancock; twenty-six thousand fifty one dolls. 45/90 of Jonathan Trumbull; and eighty seven thousand one hundred twenty four dollars 12/90 of Col. William Palfrey, by which a ballance of four thousand five hundred and sixteen dollars11/90 appears due the United States for which he has produced the receipts.
"But for want of a voucher for the monies he credits the United States with received in the Northern Dept. it is not finally discharged. (.3)

Adams Bailey, Paymaster to Colonel Bailey Regt. the 2 Massachusetts, has this day produced and settled his accounts for pay due the regiment from the 1st March 1779 to the first day of Jan.y 1780 in which he credits the United States with the sum of eighty three thousand, four hundred fifty one dollars & 68/90 received from the Paymaster Generals office by which a ballance appears due the United States of two thousand six hundred sixty nine dollars and 35/90 for which he has produced receipts ...." Adams Bailey was an original member of the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati.
