A synopsis of d'Opterre's service in the French Corps royal du Genie with a request for a pension, endorsed by Desandrouins (on p. [1] and [2]) and on 26 Sept. 1782 by Rochambeau (on p. [2])
d'Opterre served under Rochambeau at the siege of Yorktown and later produced a manuscript journal and maps of the siege.
Watermark: J Honig & Zoonen (almost identical to Gravell, Foreign watermarks, 374, but in this case, a chain line cuts through part of the "J"
Rochambeau and Desandrouins were original members of the French Society of the Cincinnati
