"Sacred to the Memory of the Patriots who on the spot fell a Sacrifice to British Barbarity, during the struggle for American Independence, on the night of the 30th of September 1777. Here repose the Remains of Fifty Three American Soldiers, who were the Victims of Cold Blooded Cruelty, in the well known Massacre at the Paoli, which under the command of Gen. Anthony Wayne, an Officer whose Military conduct, Bravery & Humanity, were equally conspicuous throughout the Revolutionary War."
Commemorates the 63rd anniversary of the massacre and depicts the memorial erected on the site in 1817.
