Treasury of Connecticut promises to pay the sum of "thirteen pounds, seven shillings, six pence" to Peter Brister who was an African-American drummer of the 1st Connecticut Regiment.
Cancelled with a circular cut-out affecting text.
With: wrapper of ms. fragment listing interest payments to Connecticut towns; docketed on verso: "No. 4. Army note payable 1787 ..."
