Collection of nine autograph letters signed from Nathan Hale to his wife, Abigail Hale, written from New York, Quebec, and the Lake Champlain frontier between April 1776 and June 1777, describing military operations, troop movements, conditions in Canada, and service at Fort Ticonderoga.

Writing from New York, Quebec & around Fort Ticonderoga, he gives accounts of his own experiences marching with the army, commanding a company & news from other fronts of the war.
Nathan Hale rose to the rank of colonel in the 2nd New Hampshire Regiment and died as a prisoner of war.
Some letters damaged and repaired at folds; portion of seals remain.
