This foundation document provides history of the formation of company in Hanover with the renowned engineer and cartographer Johann Ludewig Hogrewe as commander and a sapper company in Hameln near Hanover; includes orders regarding vaious aspects of the foundation, signed and dated by major general Johann Wilhelm du Plat & field marshal Johann Wilhelm von Reden; pay-roll lists, various lists with names of personnel and officers, equipment and a detailed service manual.

Bound in calf with gilt spine divided in 6 compartments by raised band; covers framed by gilt fillet & all edges gilt; marbled end papers.
