Letter of commendation for the Chevalier Du Buysson, to Marquis de Ségur: "The chevalier Du Buyson [sic], a Lieutenant Colonel in the armies of the United States & Brigadier General in the service of the State of North Carolina, to which latter promotion he was appointed by that state in consideration of his gallantry at the Battle of Cambden [sic], having obtained leave of absence to return to France ... the distinguished merit & conduct of the gentleman in the service of the United States & particularly of his bravery displayed in the action of the 16th of August near Cambden [sic] in South Carolina."
