Ms. record (tables on both sides) from the court-martial trial of Admiral Keppel for failing to pursue the enemy during an engagement with the French fleet off Ushant in July 1778. The charges against Keppel brought by his second-in-command Sir Hugh Palliser; Keppel was acquitted, but Palliser had soon to face his own court martial.
Listing all the frigates and ships-of-the line in Keppel's fleet, their rate, guns, men, commanders & division.
On verso: "A list of the French ships of the line that Keppel fought 27 July 1778 : according to the best intelligence" (similar list of the French fleet, with notes "English had 138 guns more than the French; French had 3962 men more than the English")
