Transcription: "The Lord Chamberlain is commanded by Their Majesties to invite Mr. and Mrs. Lars Anderson to a Court to be held at Buckingham Palace on Friday the 13th May, 1904 at 10 o'clock p.m. Full Dress. Ladies with Feathers and Trains. The Doors of the Palace will be opened at 9:30 p.m."
It was published in contemporary newspaper accounts that Isabel's court dress cost $500,000 and was studded with real pearls. However, a letter from Larz's mother states that she has seen a picture of the dress and "thinks it quite pretty, even if the pearls are not real."
