Summarizing the re-organization of the Continental Army following its encampment at Valley Forge; changes included the restructuring and reduction of men in the Infantry, Artillery and Cavalry, and the establishment of a company of light infantry. Congress also created for the first time a Provost (police) corps and an Engineering Department; lists detail the numbers of men by rank in each unit and their pay per month.
One of very few surviving documents printed in York, Pennsylvania, while Congress was convened there having fled Philadelphia ahead of the British Army in the fall of 1777.
