Regarding the suit of William M. Walker vs. Packer, which has not gone forward due to nonpayment of fees. Anderson offers to pay the fees for Walker so that the case may advance.
Anderson also asks for the return of an "assignment from Mr. Longworth to myself" which he says "he was misinformed" on "or else I should not have troubled you with it."
J.M. Carlisle was a prominent Washington, DC lawyer. He is perhaps best known for his work as the prosecution in the sensational David E. Sickles trial of 1859, in which New York Congressman Sickles shot and killed DC District Attorney Phillip Barton Key, son of Francis Scott Key.
