Suggests a rapid settlement of financial affairs by arranging an exchange of "some Georgia lands for 25,0000 acres in this state, which I cannot do wihile the records in Georgia contain a verdict against me whether right or wrong." See MSS 189-E and 189-F for background of financial difficulties relating to these Georgia lands.
Both Pendleton and Webb were original members of the Society of the Cincinnati; both were aides-de-camp to Nathanael Greene.
