Downe and Kaye, assuming "that in this juncture a new [parliament] will be speedily called," write "to acquiant [Fairfax] with our resolutions of offering our services again to the county at the next election and to desire the favor of all the assistance you can give us."
Context: Queen Anne died in August, 1714; George I succeeded to the throne. Henry Dawnay, Lord Downe and Sir Arthur Kaye were M.P.'s from Yorkshire at the time.
