Numerous editions of this work by DuFay and Cambray, a French engineer, were published in Paris and Amsterdam between 1681 and 1771. Most editions, including the first (Paris, 1681) bore DuFay's name only. DuFay wrote the parts on geometry while Cambray wrote those on fortification.
