Colonel Parsons appeals to General Schuyler, for assistance in bringing to trial a Nova Scotian accused of murdering Parsons’ brother. “My station in the Service of my country prevents my personal application for your Aid in the Matter; I have the Honor to command a Regiment in the continental army & cannot obtain Leave of Absence from Camp. I need not again beg your Honor to Spare some small Time from the Public Service of your Country to attend to the Cries of the Widow & the Orphan.”
