Joshua Pico is mentioned in the Papers of George Washington, Rev. War series, vol. 2, p. 559. Washington reports to John Hancock that Pico confirmed a report that a "Regiment of Foot and some companys of Light horse were prepring to embark for Halifax."
Lists clients and accounts of goods bought and sold, including gauging barrels, hoops, and casks of blubber, molasses, wine, water, and rum as well as quantities of flour, fish, beef, and pork.
Pico was a barrel maker and merchant whose skills in setting hoops and staves were called upon by ship owners.
Henry Lloyd, a Loyalist Boston merchant and one of his most faithful clients, in 1775 bought good for the ships Prince George and Kitty and for the brigs Emerson and Hawk.
Another repeated client was Isaac Winslow, another Loyalist.
