"We have seen an article in the paper from the City of W__ saying Mr. Jackson was dismissed, that our government must not confer with him on acct. of of his indecorous language & conduct & that England must depute another functionary before any negotiations could be pursued...."
"...[W]hen a foreign minister will give our government the lie in our own capitol to our faces, tis time that every heart should feel indignant & be ready for the spark."
"I promised to write D. Rawlings but the lateness of the hour must be my excuse - give my love to him & his good Lady & children." Rawlings was a Justice of the Peace in that territory.
