Note
Poster shows an American soldier saluting at at the grave of a fallen French comrade with two young children, possibly the dead soldier's orphans, in tears at his side. At the top in the clouds is a line of soldiers holding crosses as a General on horseback (possibly George Washington) salutes them with a wreath. The artist's signature appears in the lower right corner with the date 1918. Just below the painting is "Vise No. 12326"
