Concerning the evacaution of Jersey, McDougall's march, and provisioning at Paramus. Putnam was at his headquarters in "Peeks Kill" in command of the forces in New York
"Don't you think Gen'l Knox has sent an order to have all the mortar & c removed immediately to Litchfield. I wonder he hasn't ordered all the artillery men there too lest they should be killed or taken"
