General Marion writes "I ... shall use my utmost to Collect all the Militia I possible can, & join you as speedily as possible. The Enemy has moved up to Moultries Planta. Two hundred horse is gone up the river s[ai]d to be with Intentions to retake the prisoners sent up by water. It is given out that the enemy means to cross the Santee river."
