Apparently a working draft for "The manual exercise, as ordered by His Majesty in the year 1764" published by Adjutant-General's Office; later appeared in numerous editions in Great Britain and America.
Manual & platoon exercises; key maneuvers for battalion deployment during attack and defense and while traversing and forming in uneven terrain are clarified by a set of drawings and plans.
Armorial bookplates with motto (Sapere Aude): Militar. collection of the Hon. Lt. Genl. G.L. Parker (2nd son of Thomas, 2nd Earl of Macclesfield & Colonel of the 20th Foot Regiment during the 1776 Canadian and 1777 Saratoga campaigns; South Library, 1860. Blind ownership stamps with motto (Sapere Aude) on first 3 leaves of each volume.
