Below the title it reads: "Engraved expressly for Graham's Magazine. This engraving appears in the magazine where it is the frontispiece for Volumn 45, #2, and accompanies an article on Washington's life by J. F. Headley.
A copy of this engraving appears in Headley's, The iIllustrated life of Washington, page 311, published by G. & F. Bill of New York in 1859. A copy of this illustration from Headley, without subtitle and reference to Graham's Magazine, is catalogued with the set of all the illustrations from that book as P&E L1993.1m.
