Statement of responsibility partially lacking (damaged) at lower margin. If the engraving may be assumed to be contemporary with the event, Isaac Talor "le vieux" must be the engraver; if, however, it was a retrospective engraving, his son, Isaac Taylor "le jeune" (1759-1829) may have been the artist.
Byng, blindfolded, falls to the deck of the Monarque, the firing squad to the right. In the foreground at left, a dingy waits, presumably to remove the body.
