The Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland (commonly known as the Lyon Register) is the record of the Court of Lord Lyon King of Arms, the sole authority regarding heraldic matters in Scotland. The register was created by an Act of Parliament in 1672 and any coat of arms granted since that date is recorded therein.
Sir Patrick Home, or Hume, of Renton and Lumsden, was titled Baronet in 1697. He was born in Berwickshire, Scotland in 1641 and died in 1724. His coat of arms is in the top left corner of the sheet and is composed of a lion rampant, three popinjays, three hunting horns, and a pelican feeding its young.
Alexander Ferguson Anderson collection.
