Washington, whole length, seated to right, legs crossed, in uniform at the left of print, at a table, in the center, with left hand upon map of the District of Columbia and right arm upon shoulder of G. W. P. Custis, who is standing to left, with right hand upon a globe. About the table, to right, are grouped Mrs. Washington, holding a spy glass, Eleanor Parke Custis and Billy Lee, the general's servant. On the table, in addition to the map is the general's sword and his hat with rosette. In the distance a view of the Potomac river.
