Note
An advertising poster for an exhibition titled: "The Loyal Americans," held at the Canadian War Museum and National Museum of Man, June-September, 1983. The information on the exhibit appears on the poster in English on the left and in French on the right. The Poster features the portrait of Captain John Saunders (1754-1834) wearing the uniform of a cavalry captain in the Queen's Rangers. After his estates were confiscated in Virginia in 1783, he fled to England and subsequently was appointed chief justice of the Supreme Court of New Brunswick in 1822. The portrait is attributed to John Rising, an English artist, ca. 1789.
